Each summer René & Gabriëlle and Charlotte & Laurent hold a special week long tango workshop in L’Huys Préau, a small chateau in the Morvan, in a beautiful part of Burgundy in Central France.
In Spring and Summer Préau organizes courses in various activities including, visual arts, theatre improvisation, dance, music, nature, yoga, poetry and philosophy.
L’Huys Préau offers private rooms, large luxurious tents, a theatre, a dance studio, a restaurant and 18 hectares of beautiful landscape and is full board.

THE WORKSHOP
Argentine Tango is an improvisational dance in which the man initially leads and the woman follows, eventually becoming a subtle game of leading and following. The classes are based on the notion that tango is an improvisational dance as well as an interpretation of the music.
We work with two levels: Beginners (without any tango dance experience) and Advanced (with tango dance experience). The principle of leading and following will be visible in all exercises, emphasizing balance, walking and eventually, dancing. We intend to enable beginners to visit a tango dance salon after the week of concentrated tango dancing.
The advanced class takes this guiding theme of dancing in a salon a step further : improvising with you partner within the musical boundaries, making fast steps and slow steps. Different kinds of music will be studied in relation to dancing: d'Arienzo, de Angelis, Pugliese and Piazzolla, each require a different approach on the dance floor.
Dancers will occasionally change partners in order to become more aware of leading and following. Of course, we won't forget the milonga and the tango-vals as well as the instruction of some more complex figures and patterns.
Daily classes: - mornings: special technique classes such as lady and men styling, posture and close embrace - afternoons: regular classes for Beginners and Advanced - evenings: every night there is tango salon in the beautiful dance studio of L'Huys Préau. The studio is open all day for private classes and unlimited practicing...or to do another activity, such as hiking, cycling, swimming, horse riding, etc. The final Friday night we organise a big dance party with performances and surprises.
